Zero-Interest Loans Empower Female Entrepreneurs – Latest Updates
İşbank and Applied Value Group (AVG) have partnered together to provide support to women entrepreneurs in Turkey. Under this initiative, a total of 3 million TL in unsecured and zero-interest loans will be given to selected women who have participated in trainings and are eligible for mentoring support. The maximum loan amount that can be availed is 100 thousand TL.
İşbank will be responsible for financing the loans, while AVG will act as the guarantor. Furthermore, in addition to the loan support, İşbank will also offer business development support to 10 women who successfully complete the program. Additionally, 3 women will be rewarded with a visit to Silicon Valley in the United States.
Speaking about the importance of fostering an entrepreneurial culture in the economy, Süleyman Sönmez, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TÜRKONFED, stated that increasing the number of women entrepreneurs in the country, which currently stands at 14%, requires collaboration between various stakeholders including the public sector, private sector, NGOs, and universities. He emphasized the need for collective efforts and the utilization of both material and moral resources to achieve this common goal.
İzlem Erdem, Deputy General Manager of İşbank, highlighted the significance of supporting women entrepreneurs, stating that prosperity, development, and sustainable economic growth can only be achieved when women are actively involved in business life. She further explained that the aim of this initiative is to provide financial assistance in the form of unsecured and zero-interest loans to selected women entrepreneurs participating in the Women’s Power in Entrepreneurship Project, enabling them to take a step closer to realizing their business dreams.
Reyhan Baylan, CEO of Applied Value Group Turkey, emphasized that apart from their role as guarantors, they will also provide consistent mentoring and voluntary training support to the entrepreneurs involved in the project.
This collaboration between İşbank and AVG aims to empower and support women entrepreneurs in Turkey, contributing towards the growth and development of the country’s economy.
