11th EMU International Design Week Dates Announced for May

EMU’s Faculty of Architecture is set to host the 11th “International Design Week” (INTDW) from May 6 to May 11. The opening ceremony will kick off on Monday, May 6, at 10:00 am at the Faculty of Architecture with the theme of “Symbiosis”.

This year’s event will focus on the concept of “Co-living” and “mutualism”, highlighting the collaborative relationships between different entities. Participants will delve into the symbiotic relationships found in nature and explore the interaction between various elements, aiming to deepen their understanding of social relations in design through themes of “diversity”, “collaboration”, and “encouraging community participation”.

The 11th International Design Week will feature interviews with renowned architecture and design offices such as Snohetta Studio, Etcetera Studio, Utopia Blu, Ergin Birinci Studio, along with academics Charlie Hailey from the University of Florida and Celal Abdi Güzer. The event will also include a rich content program with “Architects Talk to Kalebodur” interview series featuring guests Atilla Kuzu and Emre Kuzlu, a Student Design Competition – ISVEA “Wet Volume and Modeling with Symbiotic Colors of the Mediterranean”, and 15 workshops.
