2024 Highway and Bridge Toll Announcement: Fatih Sultan Mehmet, Osmangazi
2024 Highway and Bridge Toll Fees Announced by General Directorate of Highways
The General Directorate of Highways has announced new tolls for highways and bridges, effective from January 1, 2024. The tolls have been rearranged for highways and bridges operated by both the General Directorate of Highways and private companies under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model.
According to the new regulation, tolls must be adjusted based on the Producer Price Index (PPI) at the beginning of each year. Despite a 97.72 percent increase in the PPI in 2022, no changes were made to the tolls, and the current fees have been in place since January 1, 2022.
The toll fees for highways and Bosphorus bridges operated by the General Directorate of Highways have been adjusted by an average of 76%. Additionally, the fees for highways and bridges operated by private companies under the BOT model have increased by an average of 50%.
As a result, the lowest toll for automobiles on General Directorate of Highways-operated highways is 9 TL, while the highest toll is 84 TL. The one-way automobile toll for Bosphorus bridges is 15 TL.
For bridges belonging to BOT projects, the toll fees for automobiles have been set at 290 TL for the Osmangazi Bridge, 295 TL for the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, and 35 TL for the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge.
The General Directorate of Highways has provided a full list of highway and bridge toll fees for the reference of the public. These changes aim to cover the increased costs of maintenance, repairs, labor, and materials, as well as to provide safer and more efficient transportation options for the public.
