Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin to Announce Teacher Appointments for 2024
All eyes are on the statements that will be made today by Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin regarding teacher appointments for the year 2024. Minister Tekin highlighted the recent cabinet meeting in his previous statement, and President Erdoğan mentioned that the details will be revealed today.
In his statement, Minister Tekin reassured the public by confirming that there will be no issues with teacher appointments. He mentioned that a total of 799,517 teachers have been appointed so far, representing over 75 percent of the required appointments. Additionally, Minister Tekin announced that 20,000 more teachers will be appointed in 2024, with the application calendar set to be announced on May 20.
President Erdoğan also expressed his support for the timely appointment of teachers, emphasizing the need to act promptly. He mentioned that the Ministry will share the branch distributions and application process soon, ensuring that the appointment process is efficient.
Among the announced staff distributions, the highest number of appointments will be in the fields of classroom teaching, special education teaching, guidance teaching, Religious Culture and Ethics teaching, and English teaching. The appointments will be based on a combination of 50 percent KPSS score and 50 percent interview score.
