Accessible Films Festival Short Film Competition Finalists and Jury Members Revealed – Latest Updates

The Accessible Films Festival is gearing up for its 12th edition, set to take place between June 7-13, 2024. The finalist films and jury members for the Short Film Competition have been announced, bringing excitement to movie buffs eagerly anticipating the event.

The International Short Film Competition aims to foster the development of the short film genre and boost production in this field. This year, the competition will be judged by a distinguished panel including Lithuanian filmmaker and artist Emilija Škarnulytė, Danish Film Critics Association President Nanna Frank Rasmussen, and animator and Animators Festival director Berat İlk.

Out of 136 submissions from 28 countries, 15 short films have made it to the finals of the competition. The selection committee, consisting of cinema critics Öykü Sofuoğlu and Hasan Nadir Derin, along with festival program coordinator Kaan Denk, carefully selected the finalists.

Some of the notable films in the running include “Main Morphose,” “Nothing Really Happened,” “I am Rain,” and “Five.” Each film promises to captivate audiences with unique storytelling and creative visuals.

The Accessible Films Festival will be held at Paribu Cineverse ANKAmall and Goethe-Institut halls in Ankara, with the support of Türk Tuborg, the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey, and various embassies. The festival aims to provide equal access to cinema for all audiences.

The winners of the Best Film, Best Director, and Best Screenplay awards, as determined by the jury, along with the Audience Special Award, chosen by audience votes, will be announced at the awards ceremony on June 13 at the Goethe-Institut.
