Kyrgyz Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov recently visited Tashkent, Uzbekistan as part of a working trip to get acquainted with the projects of an Olympic town. The Prime Minister, accompanied by a delegation, met with Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov who informed them about the construction project of the Olympic town.

Construction of the Olympic town in Tashkent began back in November 2022 with a reported project cost exceeding $289 million. The town spans across approximately 100 hectares in preparation to host the upcoming Asian Games and Asian Para-Games among youth in 2025.

During the visit, the delegation from Kyrgyzstan was also presented with the Yangi Tashkent project. This initiative showcases the collaborative efforts and developments taking place in Uzbekistan’s capital city.
