
Almaty Hosts Central Asia-China Ministerial Meeting

6th Meeting of Central Asia-China Foreign Ministers Held in Almaty
On April 26, Almaty hosted the 6th Meeting of Foreign Ministers from the Central Asia-China format, marking a significant step towards enhancing diplomatic and economic cooperation in the region. Attendees included key representatives such as Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu, China’s Wang Yi, Kyrgyzstan’s Jeenbek Kulubayev, Tajikistan’s Sirojeddin Mukhriddin, Uzbekistan’s Bakhtiyor Saidov, and Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to China, Parakhat Durdyev.
The agenda of the meeting revolved around several critical issues, including strengthening political dialogue, expanding trade and economic relations, enhancing transport connectivity, and addressing shared challenges such as security threats and environmental concerns. Participants made proposals aimed at improving the multilateral interaction framework, emphasizing mutual respect and equality as guiding principles.
The ministers underscored the necessity for balanced approaches to contemporary challenges and took steps towards fostering mutually beneficial development. There was a shared sentiment on the importance of consolidating efforts to ensure that the upcoming leaders’ meeting marks a new era of friendship and prosperity among the involved nations.
At the culmination of the event, an Information Communique was adopted, reinforcing the commitment to good-neighborliness, sustainable development, and deepening multilateral cooperation within the Central Asia-China framework.
This meeting exemplifies the ongoing collaborative spirit and shared aspirations of Central Asian nations and China, presenting a united front in enhancing regional prosperity.
