Beşiktaş Coach Fernando Santos Takes Responsibility for Defeat – Last Minute Sports News
Beşiktaş suffers a 4-0 defeat under Fernando Santos’ management
Fernando Santos, the head coach of Beşiktaş, faced a different margin defeat in his third match in charge of the team. The black and white football team lost 4-0 to Pendikspor in the 21st week of the Super League.
This defeat comes after a strong start for Santos, with a 3-0 win against VavaCars Fatih Karagümrük in his first match and a 4-0 victory over Eyüpspor in the Turkish Cup.
Speaking after the Pendikspor match, Santos took full responsibility for the loss, saying, “I congratulate Pendikspor. I can clearly say that the responsibility is mine. We came to this match well, but we did not get what we wanted. We must keep our heads up because we have a very important match on Tuesday. We have to continue without bowing our heads.”
Santos also acknowledged the missed opportunities, stating, “We had at least 5-6 opportunities, but we couldn’t get the ball into the goal.” He also explained his decision to substitute Demir Ege due to a yellow card and the team’s failure to act together in the second half.
Following the defeat, Santos promised to talk to the players and address the shortcomings in their performance, stating, “We will know that we played this game badly.”
Beşiktaş will now look to regroup and bounce back from this defeat in their upcoming matches under Fernando Santos’ management.
