Sıla 4’s New Book “A Drop of Mediterranean Notes” to be Launched and Signed
Exciting news for fans of Sıla 4 as the launch and signing day of their new book “A Drop of Mediterranean Notes” is set to take place this Thursday. Published with the contributions of the Department of Culture, the event will kick off at 16.00 at İsmet Vehit Güney Art Center.
According to a statement released by the Culture Department, the book “A Drop of Mediterranean Notes” is a tribute to the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Sıla 4, the beloved group that has captured the hearts of Turkish Cypriots with their music. The book features a foreword and introduction by Sıla 4 and the Director of the Culture Department, Şirin Zaimağaoğlu.
Zaimağaoğlu described the book as “the sum of our culture, our experiences, and the values that define us as a community.” The book not only contains the melodies and lyrics of Sıla 4’s songs, including those that have never been transcribed into notes, but also shares the founding story of the band as well as the biographies of its members.
Fans can look forward to finding 29 songs in the book, including favorites like ‘I’ll Call You, I’ll Ask You’, ‘I’m Coming on My Horse’, and ‘Are You Over the Zeytin’? This collection aims to celebrate the rich musical legacy of Sıla 4 and their contribution to the Turkish Cypriot music scene.
