Businesswoman Yasemin Sadıkoğlu assaulted at a nightclub
Prominent businesswoman Yasemin Sadıkoğlu was the victim of a violent attack at a popular nightclub in the Etiler District of Istanbul. The incident took place in the early hours of January 20, when Sadıkoğlu was assaulted by an unidentified woman, resulting in her hair being torn off.
Following the attack, Sadıkoğlu immediately reported the incident to the police station, lodging complaints against both the assailant and the nightclub’s management. Security camera footage was reviewed by the Istanbul Police Department as part of their investigation into the assault.
According to Sadıkoğlu’s statement to the police, the attack occurred while she was waiting for a friend in the nightclub’s restroom. The assailant, whom she did not know, approached her from behind and violently pulled her hair. Despite the efforts of bystanders to intervene, the attacker was only driven away after the nightclub’s management also forced Sadıkoğlu to leave.
Subsequently, police authorities detained two women, identified as NK (30) and DK (34), who were responsible for the attack, as well as the venue’s manager, AYK. Following the completion of their procedures at the police station, the suspects were released by the court.
The incident is a stark reminder of the importance of ensuring the safety and security of all individuals in public spaces, as well as holding accountable those responsible for such violent acts. The case serves as a call to action for measures to prevent and properly address similar incidents in the future.
