Cabin Crew Illnesses Force Cancellation of 90 Flights at Indian Airline
Air India Express Cancels Flights Due to Cabin Crew Sick Leave
In a recent development, Air India Express had to cancel approximately 90 domestic and international flights due to around 300 cabin crew members reporting sick at the last minute and not coming to work. An unnamed spokesperson of the airline company made a statement regarding the canceled flights, expressing regret for the inconvenience caused to passengers.
The spokesperson mentioned that the airline took necessary measures to address the grievances of the affected passengers. “We apologize to our passengers for this unexpected disruption. Guests affected by the cancellations will be refunded in full or rescheduled to another date free of charge,” the spokesperson stated.
Following the cancellations, some of the thousands of passengers who were affected took to their social media accounts to express their frustration. Additionally, the Air India Express Employees Union (AIXEU) released a statement claiming that the staff members did not report to work as a form of protest against perceived injustices in wages and promotions.
The situation has caused chaos and inconvenience for passengers, highlighting the importance of resolving internal issues within the airline to prevent similar incidents in the future.
