
Call for Entries: 32nd State Photography Contest by Department of Culture

32nd State Photography Contest and Exhibition to be Held in 2024
The Culture Department under the Deputy Prime Ministry, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment, has announced that it will be accepting applications for the 32nd State Photography Competition and Exhibition from February 29 to April 1, 2024.
According to the information provided by the department, those interested in participating in the competition can apply by uploading their works to the designated address. The competition will be organized into six categories: Free (Black & White), Free (Color), Nature (Color-Black & White), My City Güzelyurt (Color-Black & White), Conceptual (Free), and Architectural (Black & White), which includes the addition of works by Abdullah Onar in this category.
The Director of the Department of Culture, Şirin Zaimağaoğlu, emphasized that they aim to raise the standards of Turkish Cypriot photography art by adding creative perspectives required by the age to the competition. It was further emphasized that all individuals over the age of 18 can participate by submitting a minimum of three and a maximum of five works in each category.
The competition’s selection committee members include faculty and industry experts who will evaluate the submitted works. Furthermore, monetary awards will be given to success awards, honorable mentions, and special awards. Additionally, a certificate will be awarded to the photographer with the most works exhibited.
The award ceremony and exhibition opening of the competition will be held on August 19, 2024, World Photography Day, in Nicosia. The exhibition will then be moved to various venues in the country and abroad.
