Casualties Rise to 24 in Israel’s Attack on Two Houses in Rafah
The Israeli army’s air attack on two separate buildings in the city of Rafah has resulted in a tragic increase in the number of casualties. The death toll has now risen from 13 to 24, with 16 children and 6 women among those who lost their lives. Health sources have reported that there are still many missing and injured individuals trapped under the rubble.
In a statement released by the Civil Defense Administration in Gaza, it was revealed that many Palestinians had lost their lives in the rubble of a multi-storey building belonging to the Abdulal family in the eastern part of Rafah. Another statement from the same administration confirmed that bodies of Palestinians were found in a building in the eastern region of Rafah following Israel’s air strike.
Since October 7, Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip have resulted in the deaths of 34,097 Palestinians, including thousands of children and women, while 76,980 people have been injured. The targeting of hospitals and educational institutions has also contributed to the destruction of civilian infrastructure.
There is concern over a potential Israeli ground invasion in Rafah, as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed his approval for such a plan despite international warnings. Reports suggest that preparations for a large-scale displacement operation are in progress, with plans to set up thousands of tents near Rafah and potentially thousands more in the future.
The situation in Rafah remains dire, with the international community urged to intervene and prevent further loss of life and destruction of infrastructure in the region.
