Construction of Facilities for Power Engineers and Data Center by Energy Ministry

A series of projects aimed at modernizing and constructing energy infrastructure has been successfully completed in Kyrgyzstan ahead of the 2024-2025 heating season. The Minister of Energy, Taalaibek Ibraev, announced these developments at a briefing in Bishkek.

Since the beginning of the year, 49 new transformers have been installed, increasing the total capacity by 438 megavolt-amperes. Additionally, several key projects have been completed, such as the construction of 10 new substations, a new building worth 187 million soms in the Batken region, another building worth 50 million soms in Sulyukta, and a data center worth 20.6 million soms in Bishkek.

In addition to these accomplishments, new buildings for the needs of power engineers have been erected in Kara-Kuldzha and Issyk-Ata district. While the cost of these facilities was not specified, they represent significant progress in improving the energy infrastructure across the country.

The Minister highlighted the efforts of NENK employees, who have repaired 2,941 transformers, installed 8,309 reinforced concrete supports, and reconstructed 187 kilometers of cable and overhead power lines. These initiatives are essential for ensuring a reliable and efficient energy supply for the people of Kyrgyzstan.
