Country Premiere of Opera ‘Don Pasquale’ on Wednesday
The highly anticipated country premiere of the opera “Don Pasquale” is set to take place this week in Famagusta, Northern Cyprus. The comedic masterpiece composed by the renowned Italian composer Gaetano Donizetti will be held at the Famagusta-Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Palace on Wednesday, with the event starting at 20.00. The premiere will be free and open to the public, allowing opera enthusiasts to enjoy this spectacular performance.
Prior to the premiere, a special talk titled “Watching Don Pasquale” will be held at 19:30 in the foyer of the Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Palace. The talk will be moderated by Murat Menket, the Deputy Conductor of the work, with Director Aytaç Manizede as the guest. This unique opportunity will provide valuable insights and behind-the-scenes information about the opera.
The opera is a co-production by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment State Opera and Ballet Coordination Center, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Presidential Symphony Orchestra, and the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism General Directorate of State Opera and Ballet. It is also held in cooperation with Famagusta Municipality and Eastern Mediterranean University, with the support of Telsim communication.
Featuring a talented cast and crew, including the orchestra conductor Ali Hoca and the stage director Aytaç Manizade, the opera promises to deliver a captivating and memorable performance. Following its country premiere, the opera will be staged on Friday at the Nicosia – NEU Atatürk Culture and Congress Center at 20.00.
