The Culture Department of the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment recently organized a number of activities in honor of 1 June World Children’s Day. One of these activities was the “Let Children Grow with Poems” event, which was held at Ziyamet Primary School by the Yenierenköy Public Library affiliated to the Culture Department.
Director of the Culture Department, Şirin Zaferyıldızı, delivered a short statement at the opening of the event, emphasizing the importance of reading books and noting that children are the hope and future of a country. Following the speech, Zaferyıldızı had the opportunity to chat with the children and recite poems.
The event was part of a larger effort by the Culture Department to promote reading and literacy among children across the country. Through initiatives like “Let Children Grow with Poems,” the Department aims to foster a love of books and reading among young people, while also celebrating their unique perspectives and creativity.
As we continue to navigate the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, initiatives like this are more important than ever. By investing in the education and well-being of our children, we can help build a brighter future for all.
