The 32nd State Photography Contest to Begin Applications

The Department of Culture has announced that applications for the 32nd State Photography Contest will begin on February 29th. The competition, open to all TRNC citizens over the age of 18, will accept submissions until April 1, 2024.

This year, the competition will feature 6 categories, including free (black & white), free (colour), nature (colour-black & white), My City Güzelyurt (colour-black & white), conceptual (freestyle), and architectural (black & white). Participants can enter their works in the desired categories, with the opportunity to submit at least three and at most five works in each category.

The selection committee for the competition exhibition includes esteemed individuals from the art and photography community, including Prof. Dr. Ali Muhammet Bayraktaroğlu from Trakya University Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Osman Ürper from Marmara University Fine Arts Faculty, and Mert Yusuf Özlük from Eastern Mediterranean University. They will be responsible for evaluating the submissions and selecting the winners.

In addition to monetary prizes, achievement awards, and honorable mentions, there will also be a Special Jury Prize and a Photographer with the Most Works Exhibited Award. The award ceremony and exhibition opening for the competition will take place on August 19, 2024, which is celebrated as World Photography Day.
