Difficulty in Connecting with Recruiters for New Tashkent Construction Job Seekers
The Ministry of Employment in Uzbekistan recently announced the availability of around 10,000 job vacancies for the construction of New Tashkent, a city being developed on a sprawling 20,000-hectare area. These job openings come with promising salaries ranging from 8 to 15 million UZS. However, numerous citizens have been facing challenges in getting through to the provided contact numbers, which seem to be non-functional.
In response to the reported issues, the Ministry has cited technical malfunctions as the cause and assured the public that efforts are being made to address and rectify the situation promptly. The vacancies are open for specialists in 38 different fields, including roles such as concrete workers, welders, plumbers, bricklayers, electricians, and painters.
Workers who secure these positions are set to receive accommodations, clothing, transportation services, and three meals per day as part of the employment package. Despite these attractive benefits, concerned citizens have expressed frustration over their inability to reach the designated contact number, 1176, provided by the Ministry.
Individuals seeking more information or attempting to apply for the job opportunities have shared their struggles with connecting to the non-responsive number. Some have even shared past negative experiences with employment agencies, expressing their skepticism and lack of trust in the process. A Kun.uz reporter also confirmed the issue by repeatedly calling the short number and encountering disconnections while waiting for an operator.
Upon reaching out to the Ministry for clarification, officials acknowledged the technical malfunction affecting the operational capacity of the contact number. They assured the public that steps are being taken to address the situation, including increasing the call center’s capacity to accommodate more callers in the queue. The Ministry remains committed to resolving the issue promptly and providing updates on the progress.
