Dumping Measures Implemented on Imports from Three Countries – Economic News Update

New Measures Implemented to Prevent Unfair Competition in Imports

The Ministry of Commerce has recently put into effect new measures aimed at preventing unfair competition in imports. These measures, published in the Official Gazette, come in response to the completion of a final review investigation carried out by the General Directorate of Imports.

The investigation focused on the import of sodium percarbonates from Germany and Sweden, as well as colorless flat glass categorized as “other” goods from Russia. The findings of the investigation revealed the likelihood of dumping and potential damage to continue or occur again if the current measures are repealed.

In light of these results, the Ministry of Commerce has decided to implement strict measures. For products originating from Germany, anti-dumping measures will be applied at a rate of 5 and 12 percent of the CIF value. Similarly, products originating from Sweden will face a 12 percent anti-dumping rate.

Colorless flat glass from Russia will also be subject to strict measures, with rates ranging from 8 to 10 percent depending on the type of glass.

It is important to note that these measures will remain in place for a period of 5 years from the date of entry into force. Additionally, if a final review investigation is initiated before the expiration date, the measures will continue to be enforced until the investigation is concluded.

The implementation of these measures reflects the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring fair competition in the import sector and protecting domestic industries from harmful practices such as dumping. It is hoped that these measures will contribute to a level playing field for all businesses involved in import and trade activities.
