EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso Holds Meeting with Akylbek Japarov
Bishkek – On May 3, 2024, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Akylbek Japarov, met with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Odile Renaud-Basso, during his working visit to Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The discussions focused on the priority directions of the national development program of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2026.
Akylbek Japarov highlighted key areas for cooperation, including water resources, mining, agro-industry, transport, light industry, and construction. He emphasized the importance of international support for these sectors and mentioned that the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry has already developed 100 projects at the state level that require assistance.
In response, Odile Renaud-Basso expressed EBRD’s readiness to support government initiatives that aim to enhance public administration and infrastructure in Kyrgyzstan. The collaboration between the Kyrgyz Republic and EBRD is expected to bring about positive developments in various fields, contributing to the country’s overall growth and progress.
