Elon Musk Announces Timeline for Payment Transactions on Social Media Platform X
During a recent interview on ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood’s X Spaces broadcast, company owner Elon Musk revealed that the social media platform X is aiming to launch in-app payment services by the middle of next year.
Musk expressed his hope to start payments earlier on the platform but cited bureaucracy as the reason for the delay. He emphasized that there are no obstacles to the rejection of payment license applications.
Despite the prolonged process, X has already received approval for payments in multiple states, including South Dakota, Kansas, Arizona, and Pennsylvania.
Addressing rumors about the inclusion of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Dogecoin on the platform, Musk emphasized that he does not spend time thinking about cryptocurrencies and hinted that the rumors were not true.
It is clear that X is making significant strides towards implementing payment transactions on its platform, and users can expect to see these services in action by the middle of next year.
