EU Council President Michel to Meet with Aliyev and Pashinyan in Brussels on 14 May
European Council President Charles Michel continues to facilitate dialogue between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia, Ilham Aliyev and Nikol Pashinyan respectively. The most recent meeting took place on August 31, 2022, with a new meeting scheduled for May 14. It was announced that the trio will also meet with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on the sidelines of the European Political Community summit in Moldova on June 1. Michel has suggested that the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Germany, and France meet at the next AST meeting in Spain in October. The previous meeting held in December 2021 marked the first time Aliyev and Pashinyan had met to resolve conflicts between their respective countries. As discussions continue, the world watches with hope for peaceful resolutions.
