Exclusive: Narin’s Father Denies Allegations of Relationship Between Husband and Brother
The investigation into the murder of Narin Güran, a young woman who went missing on August 21 in the Tavşantepe Neighborhood of the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır, continues to unfold. Her lifeless body was tragically found in the Eğertutmaz Stream on September 8, prompting a thorough inquiry by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Among the 22 suspects who were detained in connection with the case are Narin Güran’s mother, father, older brother, four uncles, and the wife of her uncle Salim Güran, who has since been arrested. Following completion of investigative procedures by the gendarmerie, details have emerged from the statement given by Narin’s father, Arif Güran.
In his statement, Arif Güran addressed rumors of a rift between himself and his brother-in-law, stating, “There is no issue between me and Salim. While there may have been some financial dealings between us, any debts owed have been settled. Our accounts are in order, and there is no outstanding debt that would lead to conflict. My delay in payment was only by 15 days, and I was unaware of my daughter’s disappearance until informed by a neighbor.”
Furthermore, Arif Güran vehemently denied any inappropriate relationship between his wife and his brother, emphasizing that their family did not use his brother’s car and had no involvement with it. Regardless of whether the perpetrator is found to be his brother or his wife, Arif Güran expressed a desire for justice to be served.
