Exploring New Opportunities for Collaboration with Turkmenistan Orient

The international forum “Investments in the Future of Turkmenistan” (IFT-2025) took place today, March 18th, at the “Ýyldyz” Hotel in Ashgabat, bringing together representatives of business and government structures from around the world. Among the active participants was a delegation from Kazakhstan, headed by the co-chairman of the Kazakh-Turkmen Business Council, Aidar Kazybayev, who mentioned that more than 30 Kazakh companies representing various industries arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the forum.

The visit of the delegation from Kazakhstan was particularly significant with the participation of the Akim (Governor) of the Mangystau Region, highlighting Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening economic cooperation with Turkmenistan. Key discussions at the forum included the supply of medical equipment and pharmaceuticals for the Cardiology Center of Turkmenistan, along with agreements to expand the range of Kazakh medicines in the Turkmen market. Additionally, an agreement was signed for the development of a project to launch a Financial Academy on Sustainable Development in Turkmenistan, with plans for cooperation in the field of ESG (environmental, social, and corporate governance) and environmental modeling.

Aidar Kazybayev emphasized the ambitious goals set by Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan for the future, including discussions on launching direct flights, simplifying visa regimes, and trade procedures. Both countries aim to increase their trade turnover to $1 billion per year.

The forum highlighted the growing economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, showcasing the potential for increased collaboration and mutual benefit. The event also underlined the importance of international forums in driving economic growth and fostering strong partnerships between countries.
