“F-16 OZGÜR jets roar across Konya skies”
Turkey’s F-16 Block 30 fighter jet has gone through a modernization process under the F-16 ÖZGÜR Project, which aims to equip the warplanes with national avionics. As per images obtained during the International Anatolian Eagle Training, the F-16 ÖZGÜR fighter jet was spotted landing at the 3rd Main Jet Base Command. The project includes upgrading various components such as the national mission computer, cockpit upper front control panel, emergency indicator, and inertial navigation system. The MURAD AESA Radar, which is currently under development, is expected to be integrated into the aircraft in the future. In addition, the project will be applied to F-16 warplanes in Block 40 and Block 50 configurations. With the national mission computer, the F-16 Block 30s will able to use Turkish ammunition and sensors easily. The supplier of the project is ASELSAN, which has started mass production deliveries of the national mission computer since last year.
