Falstaff Opera to be performed at AKM | N-Life

The Istanbul State Opera and Ballet (İDOB) has announced that the opera “Falstaff” will be performed on May 8, 11, and 18, featuring Serbian baritone Zeljko Lucic and Grammy-winning tenor Bülent Bezdüz. Lucic will take on the role of “Sir John Falstaff” on May 11, while Bezdüz will portray “Fenton” on May 8 and 18.

“Falstaff,” with a libretto by Arrigo Boito, will be directed by Renato Bonajuto, with the İDOB Orchestra conducted by Tolga Atalay Ün accompanying the production.

The cast includes Işık Belen, Caner Akgün, Alper Göçeri, Ufuk Toker, and many more talented performers alongside Lucic and Bezdüz. Paolo Villa will lead the choir, and the opera will be performed in Italian.

The set design for “Falstaff” is by Efter Tunç, costumes are by Ayşegül Alev, and lighting is by Yakup Çartık.
