Finalists Announced for NEU 3rd Cinema Symposium Film Festival

The finalists for the Near East University (NEU) 3rd Cinema Symposium Film Festival have been announced. A total of 217 applications were submitted via the “FilmFreeway” page, and 166 films meeting the criteria were accepted. Pre-Jury President Cinema Writer Hayri Çölaşan and his team of judges determined a total of 16 films to be finalists in the animation, documentary, experimental, fiction, and student short film categories.

The finalists for the animation competition are “Cepgöz (Pocketeye)”, “Person! Dur Bir Dakika (Human! Stop One Minute)”, and “Apology”. In the documentary film competition, “Cosplay”, “Dilek Kutusu (Wish Box)”, and “Lale Cinema” were selected as finalists. For the experimental film category, the finalists are “Don’t Try Again Leyla”, “Larva”, and “Tempus”. The fiction film competition includes finalists “Gas (The Gas)”, “Footprints of Ants”, and “Oyunbozan (Game, Interrupted)”. Lastly, the student short film competition finalists are “Symbiosis”, “Meryem (Mary)”, “I You He We You They (I You He/She We You They)”, and “Suicide Watchman”.

The finalist films will be evaluated by a distinguished jury, including Jury President Derviş Zaim, Jury Members Zühal Çetin Özkan, Tamer Levent, Şenay Gürler, and Canol Balkaya, along with Hayri Çölaşan and Fevzi Kasap.
