French Police Detain 2 Students for Pro-Palestine Protests
Students at universities in various cities in France are continuing to show their support for Palestine in response to Israel’s attacks on Gaza. Reports from the Palestine Committee of Sciences Po Paris indicate that students gathered in front of the school, blocking the entrance with garbage bins and bicycles while chanting pro-Palestine slogans. They hung a Palestinian flag and carried signs condemning the violence in Gaza.
However, the police intervened and removed the protesters from the school grounds. Some students were physically removed, and one protester was taken away with his hands clasped on his waist. Despite this, the students remain determined to voice their solidarity with Palestine.
In a separate incident, it was reported that two students were detained in Paris, with two others going on a hunger strike for six days in support of Palestine. Activists rallied outside the school to show their support for the detained and hunger-striking students.
In another city, students boycotted exams at Sciences Po Reims and gathered in protest outside the exam venue, chanting slogans demanding justice for Palestine. The police attempted to remove some students from the protest.
Meanwhile, students at Sciences Po Le Havre initiated a protest on campus, displaying signs and chanting slogans in support of Palestine. Despite facing opposition, the students remain committed to advocating for the rights of Palestinians.
The solidarity and actions of these students in France highlight the growing support for Palestine in response to the ongoing violence in Gaza. It is a sign of hope for a peaceful resolution to the conflict and justice for the Palestinian people.
