Gaza Hospitals Facing Closure in Crisis
Doctor Muhammed Saliha, an official at Avde Hospital in Gaza, has raised concerns about the lack of essential health services in the region. In a press conference, he highlighted the fact that all hospitals in the north are currently out of service, making Avde Hospital the lifeline for residents in need of medical attention.
The ongoing conflict in the area has severely impacted the availability of crucial services such as emergency care, gynecology clinics, operating rooms, radiology, and laboratory services. Doctor Muhammed warned that if Avde Hospital were to become inoperable, the residents of the region would be left without access to these vital health services.
Following Israel’s 18-day siege and attacks on the area, Avde Hospital resumed its operations on February 11, albeit at only 50 percent capacity. The hospital is now faced with the challenge of providing care to the sick and injured under difficult conditions.
It is crucial for Avde Hospital to receive the necessary support and resources to continue serving the community in Gaza. The residents rely on these health services for their well-being, and any further disruptions could have dire consequences.
