Germany sells Ukraine 2.7 billion euros worth of new weapons and ammo

Germany to Provide Additional Military Support to Ukraine
Germany has announced that it will provide an additional 20 Marder type armored combat vehicles, 30 Leopard-1 battle tanks, and 4 Iris-T-SLM air defense systems to Ukraine, as reported by the German News Agency DPA based on the Ministry of Defense. The 2.7 billion euro worth of weapons and ammunition to be given to Ukraine will be the biggest support that Germany has provided since the start of the Russia-Ukraine War. To date, Germany has provided arms support of 2.75 billion euros.
According to Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, the military supplies being sent show that Germany is serious about providing support. He emphasized that “everyone wants the terrible war waged by Russia against the Ukrainian people, which is against international law, to end as soon as possible. Unfortunately, this is not yet in sight. That’s why Germany will do whatever it can to help as long as it’s necessary, no matter how long it takes.”
In addition to the most recent support, Germany has already sent 18 Leopard-2 tanks, 40 Marder type armored combat vehicles, 34 Gepard anti-aircraft tanks, 2 armored rescue vehicles, 2 Wisent mine clearance tanks, 2 Iris air defense systems, and Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine. Furthermore, 18 wheeled howitzers, artillery ammunition, guided missiles for air defense systems, 4 Iris fire units for air defense, and 12 Iris launchers have also been delivered.
The additional support from Germany is expected to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capability amid its ongoing conflict with Russia. The war in eastern Ukraine has been ongoing since 2014, and it has claimed the lives of over 13,000 people according to the United Nations.
