“Girne Municipality Theater Group Goes on Tour with “The Diary of a Madman””
Girne Municipality Theater Group has started its tour of “The Diary of a Madman” play on March 27, World Theater Day, with the first screening taking place on April 29 in Güzelyurt. The play will continue its tour with a screening at Famagusta Municipality Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center on May 13, at 20.30. The story is centered on the life of a small civil servant who lived during the oppressive period of Tsar Nicholas I. The protagonist Popriç descends into madness, with the added love he feels for his principal’s daughter and the monotonous life he lives contributing to his psychological tides until he thinks he is the King of Spain. The tour will continue with screenings on May 16 at Çatalköy-Esentepe Municipality Erol Avgören Cultural Center, May 20 at Lefke Municipality Cultural Center, and May 28 at Iskele Municipality Iskele Ataturk Cultural Center.
