Greek Cypriot Administration Demands USA to Reverse Decision – Breaking News Today

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has strongly condemned the decision made by the USA to designate the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus as a suitable country for arms sales and military training. In a statement released on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the TRNC expressed its disapproval of the decision, calling it a “grave mistake.”
The TRNC emphasized that the decision would only increase armament activities on the island, which is currently going through a sensitive period. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged all relevant parties to avoid provocative steps and act with common sense in order to maintain peace and stability in the region.
Furthermore, the TRNC expects the new administration in the USA to reverse this decision once it takes office. As the Motherland and Guarantor State Türkiye, they have pledged to support the TRNC in enhancing its defense and deterrence capabilities.
It remains to be seen how the USA will respond to these criticisms and whether they will reconsider their decision regarding arms sales to the Greek Cypriots. The situation highlights the complex geopolitics of the region and the need for all parties involved to act responsibly in order to prevent further escalation of tensions.
