“International Cyprus Workers’ Film Festival” Announced by BRTK

The twelfth International Cyprus Workers’ Film Festival is currently taking place, scheduled between 2-11 May. The Festival opened with the screenings of “Cashiers Stand Up” and “Forward Printing House Resistance and Solidarity”, followed by the documentary “White Collar” and an interview with guest Academician-Author Nevzat Evrim Önal.

During the event, Nevzat Evrim Önal gave a presentation on “Middle Class, White Collar Workers and the Struggle for Socialism”, emphasizing the importance of understanding social classes in shaping societal struggles. He discussed topics such as the middle class, white and blue collar workers, the capitalist system, class society, and the organized working class’s struggle.

The screening of the three-part documentary “White Collar” was a highlight of the evening, followed by a question-and-answer session and exchange of views between participants and guests.

The Festival will continue with the movie “Peterloo” on Wednesday evening, inviting all interested individuals to the free screening at the new hall of KTÖS at 19.00.

Organized by volunteers, the 12th International Cyprus Workers’ Film Festival is supported by various organizations such as the Anonymous Youth Organization, Baraka Cultural Center, Basın-Sen, BES, El-Sen, Göç-Taş, Güç-Sen, HAKSEN, Women’s Education Collective, Koop-Sen, KTAMS, KTOEÖS, and KTÖS.
