Investigation launched into large-scale natural gas theft in Samarkand by Prosecutor’s Office

Illegal use of gas and electricity has been uncovered in various regions, leading to criminal cases being initiated against the perpetrators.

A recent pre-investigation check, carried out by the Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office, local police, “Uzenergoinpection”, and the Gas Transport Company (GTF) in the Past Dargom district, unearthed a case of illegal gas consumption. G.X., a resident of the “Nayman” community, was found to have installed twenty homemade heating devices in his greenhouse without authorization, resulting in the illegal use of natural gas worth 688.9 million UZS. A similar incident was discovered in the household of X.S. in the “Kazakh-Nayman” community, where homemade heating devices were installed in a greenhouse, leading to the illegal consumption of 329.6 million UZS worth of natural gas.

In a separate operation conducted by the Department in the Buston district in collaboration with Electric Power Supply Company workers, illegal electricity use was uncovered. It was revealed that T-I. LLC, with the help of district electric power company personnel, had installed an electric meter without a control seal in the LLC’s building, resulting in the illegal use of electricity valued at 105.2 million UZS.
