Iskele Municipality’s 13th Culture & Art Days continued last night with a mesmerizing theater performance by the talented Theater Artist Nazan Kesal.

According to a statement released by the municipality, Nazan Kesal took the stage with her one-woman theater play “My wounds are from love”, written by Şebnem İşigüzel and directed by Berfin Zenderlioğlu. In this captivating performance, Kesal brought to life the rebellious spirit of Füruğ Ferruhzad, a prominent figure in Iranian poetry.

The play delves into the story of a “contrary woman” whose death is met with resistance, leaving her funeral in a state of limbo. As she awaits her final resting place, the woman pens the poem of her life in a poignant portrayal of her journey.

In addition to Kesal’s captivating performance, the audience was also treated to a screening of a short film titled “Swing”. This film follows the last 12 minutes in the life of a young woman residing in a house on the outskirts of the city, offering a glimpse into her world and emotions.

The evening was filled with artistic expression and thought-provoking narratives, leaving the audience with much to contemplate and appreciate.
