Italian Artisan Excellence: A Celebration of Craftsmanship and Creativity

Made in Italy Day Celebrated in Turkmenistan

Made in Italy Day, celebrated annually on April 15, is a day dedicated to honoring the rich heritage of Italian design, fashion, cuisine, technology, and more. This celebration recognizes the outstanding achievements of Italian craftsmen, artists, entrepreneurs, and innovators throughout history.

The choice of April 15 as the date for this celebration was not random. It coincides with the birthday of the great Italian polymath Leonardo da Vinci, born in 1452. Leonardo da Vinci personified innovation, creativity, and craftsmanship, which are the core principles of the Made in Italy brand.

In Turkmenistan, the first Made in Italy Day event was organized on April 15, aligning with other Italian diplomatic missions worldwide. The event was hosted at the Arkach trade and commercial center, with Ambassador of Italy to Turkmenistan, Luigi Ferrari, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to showcase Italian creativity and excellence.

During the event, Ambassador Ferrari highlighted Italy’s economic prowess, noting that Italy is the third-largest economy in the eurozone and the eighth-largest globally. Italy’s exports of goods and services amount to approximately 516 billion euros, representing 32% of its GDP and holding a 2.71% share of the global export market.

The event also featured Azat Meredov, the coordinator of the Italian Trade Agency in Ashgabat, who works to connect interested Turkmen entrepreneurs with Italian business partners. Additionally, Turkmen entrepreneurs who collaborate with Italian partners, such as Paul & Shark, Moreschi, Ermenegildo Zegna, Stefano Ricci, Benetton, Versace, and Muzetti, shared their success stories.

To mark the occasion, all participants were treated to a celebratory buffet, showcasing the best of Italian craftsmanship and innovation. Made in Italy Day serves as not only a celebration but also a tribute to the traditions and innovations that have propelled Italian products to international acclaim.

Regardless of your location, you can join in the celebration of Made in Italy Day by embracing Italian culture, trying Italian products, or sharing your love for Italy on social media. Let’s celebrate the legacy of Italian craftsmanship and design that continues to inspire the world.
