Kids’ Art Festival at Istanbul Modern Museum
Istanbul Modern Hosts “Play at the Museum” Festival
Istanbul Modern is hosting the “Play at the Museum” festival, which aims to introduce children to art through various interactive activities. Children and their families can participate in art workshops, exhibitions tours, drama activities, and creativity seminars throughout the day.
Melda Tütüncüoğlu Demir, the Education and Social Projects Manager at Istanbul Modern, expressed the museum’s dedication to April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day by organizing this event. Demir emphasized the importance of children feeling like artists and explorers, stating, “We have prepared different contents for the festival. Children can go on a tour with a treasure map to discover artworks and learn about the artists. They can also create self-portraits in the art field.”
One of the highlights of the festival is the color workshop, where children can explore colors by using materials like turmeric, henna, and blackberry. Additionally, children can participate in drama activities called “Art in Fairy Tales” where they can read stories with theater artists and act out dramas.
Furthermore, Istanbul Modern is offering “Creativity Seminars” for parents led by expert instructors and artists to provide valuable experiences and insights on child development.
The “Play at the Museum” festival includes exhibition tours, interactive workshops, drama activities, and seminars for parents. By engaging in these activities, children and their families can learn about art, unleash their creativity, and have a fun-filled day at the museum.
