
KÖDER Wraps Up Filming Documentary on Renowned Artist Jale Derviş – BRTK

Cyprus Women’s Stories Association (KÖDER) is continuing its series of documentaries highlighting women who have made significant contributions to society. Their latest documentary sheds light on the life of Jale Derviş.
In a recent statement, KÖDER President Şenay Ekingen announced the completion of the documentary, which was sponsored by Önder Shopping Centers. This marks the association’s 20th documentary, and it is expected to be released to the public in the near future.
The documentary explores Jale Derviş’s journey from her childhood and youth, where music played a significant role, to her pursuit of piano education in England. It also delves into her teaching career at Victoria Girls’ High School and her collaborations with Kamran Aziz, starting from her time at Lâkadamya Radio in the 1950s to her live music programs on Bayrak Radio. Through interviews with her family, friends, former students who have excelled in society, and researchers, the documentary showcases the pioneering and valuable contributions that led to the promotion of Western Classical Music in the country.
Jale Derviş, renowned as the teacher of teachers, was not only a pianist and composer but also a dedicated piano teacher. This documentary aims to preserve her legacy and pass it on to future generations through the efforts of KÖDER.
