Kulun Ata Market Vendors’ Rent Reduced After Appeal to SCNS Head

In Bishkek, the demands of Kulun Ata market vendors have been fully satisfied, according to a report from the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS). Following an appeal from the Chairperson of the Trade Union of Kulun Ata market vendors, Roza Isamidinova, a meeting was held at the SCNS with market management and sellers to address the issue of rents.

Previously, the rent had been reduced by 10 percent, which did not satisfy the vendors. However, following the meeting, the demands of the sellers were fully satisfied, with the market administration expressing their readiness to reduce the rent for both owners of retail spaces and subtenants. This reduction in rent is expected to decrease the cost for vendors by 15-30 percent.

The day before the meeting, market vendors had demanded a reduction in rent, citing dissatisfaction with the previous reduction of only 10 percent. The SCNS’s announcement of the full satisfaction of the vendors’ demands brings a positive resolution to the issue and reflects the government’s commitment to creating favorable conditions for market sellers.
