Kyrgyzstan’s Passport Climbs in Global Ranking

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan has taken a significant step towards simplifying visa requirements for its citizens. Several important international agreements on the mutual abolition of visa requirements have been ratified by Kyrgyzstan, as reported by the Ministry’s press service.

The ratification of these agreements includes deals with Albania, Montenegro, Thailand, and Venezuela. These agreements, which were signed in September 2024 during the UN General Assembly in New York, specifically target holders of diplomatic and service passports. Additionally, an agreement with Cyprus on the abolition of visas for holders of diplomatic passports was also ratified.

As a result of the ministry’s focused efforts, Kyrgyzstan’s passport has seen a notable improvement in its ranking on the prestigious Passport Index. Compared to the previous year, the Kyrgyz passport has moved up by 14 positions and is now ranked 67th as of March 6, 2025.

This development will not only make travel more convenient for Kyrgyz citizens but also reflects positively on the country’s international relations and standing in the global community. Stay tuned for further updates on this evolving situation.
