
Lawmakers Remove Iskander Gaipkulov from CEC Before Term Completes

On March 12, 2025, in Bishkek, the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan approved the early dismissal of Iskander Gaipkulov from his position as a member of the Central Commission for Elections and Referendums. The decision came after Gaipkulov submitted his resignation letter, which was announced by Deputy Speaker Nurlanbek Azygaliev during a parliamentary session.
A total of 69 out of 79 registered deputies voted in favor of Gaipkulov’s dismissal, while three voted against it. Iskander Gaipkulov had previously served as a deputy of the parliament from 2017 to 2021 before becoming a member of the CEC in 2021.
