Magtymguly Fragi-inspired Creative Works Exhibition Held in Kyiv Library
A creative art exhibition titled “Melodies of the Turkmen Land” was recently held at the Kyiv library named after Magtymguly, celebrating the works of the 18th-century poet Magtymguly Fragi. The event, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine in collaboration with the Magtymguly Library, showcased the creative talents of students from the center for Extracurricular Activities in Kiev.
The young participants, aged 6 to 15, depicted scenes from Fragi’s works using various artistic mediums, portraying the patriotic, lyrical, and historical motifs of the poet’s writings. From the landscapes of Turkmenistan to symbolic figures like the Mausoleum of Torebeg Hanym and the Akhalteke horse, the exhibition captured the essence of Fragi’s love for his homeland.
During the ceremony, diplomats from the Embassy of Turkmenistan recognized the participants for their exceptional contributions to promoting Turkmen culture and Magtymguly’s legacy. A video showcasing the life and work of the poet was also presented, followed by a tour of the Magtymguly room-museum, which features new exhibits reflecting Turkmenistan’s decorative arts and book products.
The exhibition, which runs from June 3 to 16, 2024, coincides with the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi and the year dedicated to celebrating his wisdom. Through their creative expressions, the young artists pay homage to the timeless inspiration found in the poet’s writings, further perpetuating his influence on future generations.
