Major Earthquake Strikes Izmir: 5.1 Magnitude Recorded
A moderate earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale occurred in the Aegean Sea, with the epicenter in Kuşadası Bay. The earthquake, felt in Manisa as well as Izmir, caused short-term panic.
