Man arrested after 15-kilometer police chase for ignoring ‘stop’ warning
Police chased down a drunk driver after receiving a report of random shots being fired from a service minibus on the İnegöl-Yenişehir road in Turkey. When police encountered the vehicle, they issued a ‘stop’ command which was ignored, prompting a chase that led through the town centre. The driver crashed into barricades, sustaining minor injuries, and was found to have 1.49 blood alcohol content. He was fined a total of 9,079 TL for disobeying police instructions, dangerous driving and DUI, and his license was suspended for six months. The investigation is ongoing.
