Man Hospitalized for Groin Pain Discovers 3-Kilo Tumor in Intestine
Auto Mechanic in Mersin Has 3-Kilogram Tumor Removed from Small Intestine
Erdal Yuna, an auto repair master in Mersin, underwent a life-saving surgery to have a 3-kilogram tumor removed from his small intestine. Yuna initially sought medical help due to groin pain, and the discovery of the massive tumor came as a surprise to both him and his doctors.
Yuna complained of groin pain to his customer, Toros State Hospital General Surgery Specialist, Opr. Dr. Hakan Dikme. Upon Dikme’s recommendation, Yuna went to the hospital for an examination, where the tumor was discovered during tests.
Following a 2-hour surgery, the large tumor, which measured 50 centimeters in diameter, was successfully removed. Yuna made a full recovery after completing his hospital treatment and was eventually discharged.
Opr. Dr. Hakan Dikme stated that the discovery of the tumor was unexpected and not a situation they encounter often. He emphasized that Yuna’s case was rare and required immediate surgical intervention.
Yuna, who expressed his surprise at the size of the tumor, admitted that he did not realize how it had grown inside him and urged others not to neglect any symptoms of illnesses.
The successful removal of the tumor and Yuna’s recovery serve as a reminder of the importance of seeking medical attention and not ignoring any signs of potential health issues.
