Man Robbed of 1.15 Million TL and Car, Assaulted.

A man from Van, Turkey was reportedly robbed in Diyarbakır after purchasing a car. Muslim Çalış wanted to buy a car that was being sold from Erciş district in Van and finally met with the seller named CY in Diyarbakır. After the car was taken for appraisal, CY’s relative Ş.Y. received the car’s license at the notary and the sale was completed. Çalış sent the agreed amount of money to the registered IBAN number and paid an additional 5,000 TL in cash. However, CY later claimed that the money was not credited to their account and continued to ask for more money even after Çalış showed the transaction details.

Feeling that he would be defrauded, Çalış set out for the police station while CY was with him in the car. However, at the entrance of Diyarbakır, another vehicle stopped next to them, and two people got out. They, along with CY, robbed Çalış of some of his money, his wallet, and the car he had just purchased. The suspects were found quickly by the police, however, CY and the others were released after their prosecution statements.

Çalış stated that he was a victim of the incident, losing his money and the car that he had just purchased. He went to the hospital to receive seven stitches for a cut above his eyebrow and filed an assault report. He expressed his disappointment that the people who robbed him were allowed to roam free after their statements were taken.

The incident serves as a warning to buyers and sellers to be cautious when dealing with transactions, especially when it comes to high-cost purchases. It is essential to take safety precautions and conduct transactions in safe spaces to avoid such incidents.
