A security guard at Ordu University Training and Research Hospital in Altınordu district was involved in a violent altercation with a cleaning personnel on the hospital premises, resulting in injuries to multiple individuals.
Orhan Görmüş, the security guard, encountered Mehtap G., a cleaning personnel, in front of the polyclinic service around 11:00 the previous day. An argument ensued between the two, leading Orhan Görmüş to injure Mehtap G. with a knife he was carrying. Mehtap G.’s relative, Mustafa G., also tried to intervene and ended up injured along with Orhan Görmüş during the brawl.
Mehtap G. sustained multiple stab wounds and a lung injury, requiring her to undergo surgery at the hospital where the incident took place. Fortunately, after a two-hour surgery, Mehtap G. was reported to be out of danger and in good condition. Mustafa G. and Orhan Görmüş were treated as outpatients in the hospital’s emergency room for their injuries.
Following the incident, Orhan Görmüş was detained and later arrested after his procedures at the police station. In his statement to the prosecutor’s office, Görmüş claimed that he had a previous relationship with Mehtap G. and grew angry upon hearing that she was getting close to another staff member at the hospital, prompting him to confront her and ultimately stab her.
The investigation into the violent altercation at Ordu University Training and Research Hospital is ongoing, as authorities seek to uncover the full details surrounding the incident and ensure justice is served for all parties involved.
