BRTK Celebrates World Children’s Day with Painting Contest
Bayrak Radio and Television Corporation (BRTK) celebrated the 60th anniversary of its founding by hosting the annual 1 June World Children’s Day Painting Contest. This year’s contest was held under the theme “Media in the World You Dreamed of” and saw the participation of 188 students from primary and secondary schools, as well as private institutions across the country.
A panel of judges, consisting of Erten Kasımoğlu, Emel Samioğlu, Nilgün Güney, Kemal Behcet Caymaz, and Pınar Başman, the President of the Mevhibe and Mustafa Başman Foundation, evaluated the students’ paintings and selected 17 winning entries across different categories.
Among the winners were Arınç Okur, Nazlıcan Koç, Hasan Karahüyük, and Fatma Okur, who showed exceptional artistic abilities in their respective categories.
The winning students will receive certificates of participation and prizes at a ceremony scheduled to take place at BRTK today. Moreover, the paintings selected for awards and exhibition will be displayed at the HD Exhibition Hall of the Broadcasting History Museum, delighting visitors from across the country.
The annual painting competition is a traditional event held at different times and on various themes by BRTK to promote artistic talents among young children. It is just one among many events that the corporation will host as it commemorates its 60 years of bringing quality broadcasting services to the Turkish Cypriot community.
