
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Meets with President of Kazakhstan Orient

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, recently held a meeting with the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in Astana on February 4th. During the meeting, Tokayev congratulated Turkmenistan on the beginning of the International Year of Peace and Trust, which was initiated by Ashgabat and coincides with the country’s 30th anniversary of neutrality. He also expressed Kazakhstan’s readiness to continue supporting Turkmenistan’s peacekeeping initiatives.
Meredov conveyed greetings from President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to President Tokayev, reaffirming Ashgabat’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Astana across all areas of interstate relations. The two leaders discussed the ongoing implementation of agreements in the energy, transit, transport, cultural, and humanitarian sectors, as per a statement from the Akorda.
This meeting signifies the strong bonds between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan and their mutual dedication to promoting peace and cooperation in the region. The collaboration between the two nations is expected to further strengthen in the future, benefiting both countries and their people.
