In a tragic incident that took place at Altınşehir Şehit Ahmet Yıldırım Police Station, a police officer identified as SUŞ. entered the station and shot the police station chief, Chief Inspector Kamuran Ü, and the public order branch team chief, Gökhan Ö, with his service pistol. The perpetrator, SUŞ., was neutralized by other police officers at the scene.
Despite immediate medical interventions, both Chief Inspector Kamuran Ü. and team chief Gökhan Ö. unfortunately could not be saved and were pronounced martyrs. SUŞ., the assailant, is currently under treatment at the hospital.
Following the incident, a large number of police and medical teams were dispatched to the station to respond to the situation. The injured officers were provided first aid on-site before being transferred to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
Minister of Internal Affairs, Ali Yerlikaya, expressed his deep sorrow over the incident and confirmed that both Chief Inspector Kamuran Ü. and team chief Gökhan Ö. succumbed to their injuries despite all efforts. Yerlikaya assured that a thorough investigation, both judicial and administrative, has been initiated to uncover the motives behind the attack.
